Cape to Cake - Disclaimer

Cape to Cake operates as a home-based baking studio in Cape Town, South Africa.

Our products are prepared in a private residential kitchen. While we follow strict hygiene practices and food safety standards, this kitchen is not a commercial factory environment.

We take great care to ensure all products are prepared safely and with attention to cleanliness at all times.

All Cape to Cake products are made in a kitchen that handles common allergens, including:

  • Nuts (including peanuts and tree nuts)
  • Soy

While we take precautions to minimise cross-contamination, we cannot guarantee that any product is completely allergen-free.

By placing an order, you acknowledge this risk and agree to inform your guests accordingly. Cape to Cake will not be held liable for any allergic reactions.

Although we maintain a clean and organised workspace and take steps to reduce cross-contact, all products are made in a shared home kitchen environment.

Separate utensils and preparation practices are used where possible; however, complete elimination of cross-contact cannot be guaranteed.

Certain edible colourants (including gel, powder, oil-based colours, and airbrush colours) may contain:

These are essential for stability and must be removed before serving.

Tiered cakes can be heavy and require careful handling. Cape to Cake is not responsible for damage once the cake has been set up, collected, or moved by the client or third parties.

Cakes are sensitive to environmental conditions.

For outdoor events, please note that factors such as:

  • Heat
  • Sunlight
  • Wind
  • Humidity
  • Dust and insects

may affect the structure and appearance of the cake.

Optimal conditions for cakes are cool environments below approximately 23°C.

Cape to Cake cannot guarantee product stability or appearance once exposed to outdoor conditions.

  • Collected by the customer, or
  • Handed over to a third-party courier

Customers who arrange their own transport do so at their own risk.
