Refund and Returns Policy

At Cape to Cake, every creation is freshly baked and made-to-order with care. Because our products are custom and perishable, we have specific guidelines regarding cancellations, refunds, and returns.


1. Order Cancellations

  • Wedding cakes: Cancellations must be made at least 30 days before the event date for a partial refund (deposit is non-refundable).
  • Celebration cakes & other custom orders: Cancellations must be made at least 7 days before the collection/delivery date for a partial refund (deposit is non-refundable).
  • Cancellations made after these periods will not be eligible for a refund, as ingredients, time, and preparation costs will already have been incurred.

2. Deposits & Payments

  • A 50% non-refundable deposit is required to secure all bookings.
  • Final balance (including delivery/setup fees, if applicable) must be paid 14 days before the event date.
  • Orders not paid in full by the due date may be cancelled, and deposits forfeited.

3. Refunds

Refunds will only be considered in the following cases:

  • If Cape to Cake is unable to fulfill your order due to unforeseen circumstances.
  • If an error is made by Cape to Cake that cannot be corrected in time for your event.

Refunds are not provided for:

  • Change of mind after the cancellation window.
  • Disliking the taste or design after collection/delivery (all flavours and styles are agreed upon in advance).
  • Damage caused after collection or setup (once the cake leaves our care, responsibility is transferred to the client or venue).

4. Returns

  • Due to the perishable nature of cakes and baked goods, we cannot accept returns.
  • If there is a concern with your order, please contact us within 24 hours of collection/delivery with photos so we can review the issue.

5. Allergies & Storage

  • Cape to Cake is not liable for issues arising from allergies not disclosed at the time of ordering.
  • Cakes must be stored as instructed at collection/delivery. Cape to Cake cannot be held responsible for damage caused by improper storage, handling, or weather conditions.
