Allergy & Dietary Information

You may choose to tell us about an allergy, intolerance or dietary concern that is relevant to an order.

Because certain health-related information may receive additional protection under POPIA, we ask customers to provide only information that is genuinely relevant to the order.

Why we need it: Allergy or dietary information supplied to us is used for the purpose of discussing the suitability and safety of the requested product and managing the relevant order.

Children's Information

Our website and ordering services are intended for adults placing orders.

We do not intentionally ask children to create accounts or submit personal information directly to us.

However, customers sometimes provide a child's first name, age, photograph or other information for a personalised birthday cake or edible print.

By providing personal information relating to a child, you confirm that you are authorised to provide that information for the requested order.

We encourage customers not to provide more personal information about a child than is necessary for the cake design.

Payments & Card Information

Online card payments are processed through secure third-party payment services such as Yoco.

Cape to Cake does not receive or store your complete payment-card number, card security code or other full card credentials used to process a card transaction.

We may retain information associated with the transaction, such as the amount paid, payment status, date, reference number or transaction confirmation for accounting and order-management purposes.

EFT payments may also result in payment-reference or transaction information being associated with your order.

Cape to Cake does not sell or rent personal information.

We may share limited personal information with service providers when reasonably necessary to operate our business or complete your order.

Payment Providers

Information required to securely process and confirm payments.

Delivery Contractors

Delivery address, recipient name, contact number and relevant delivery instructions where required to complete a delivery.

Website & Technology Providers

Hosting, security, website maintenance, email, analytics and other technology services used to operate our website and business systems.

Professional Advisers

Accountants, legal advisers or other professional service providers where reasonably necessary.

Where Cape to Cake arranges delivery through a delivery contractor, we may provide the contractor with the information reasonably required to complete that delivery.

  • Customer or recipient name

  • Contact telephone number

Delivery contractors should use this information only for purposes connected with completing the relevant delivery.

Photos, Logos & Custom Artwork

Custom cake orders may require customers to upload or send photographs, logos, artwork, names or other personalised material.

We use this material to prepare or quote for the requested product.

Please only provide photographs, logos or other personal information that you are authorised to provide and use for the requested product.

Cape to Cake may photograph completed products for business records, portfolio purposes or to showcase our work.

Where an image contains clearly identifiable private personal information, such as a customer's personal photograph, we will take privacy considerations into account before using that image publicly.
